The Washington girls basketball team battled shorthanded on Saturday night, falling 33–92 to a strong St. Joseph squad. The Panthers were without their leading scorer and floor general, Zakaela Walker, but still showed grit, communication, and togetherness from start to finish. Even with the rotation stretched thin, Washington kept competing on every possession. Players stepped into bigger roles, talked through defensive adjustments, and continued to lift each other up through every run. The Huskies’ size and pace created challenges early, but the Panthers stayed locked in and used the game as another step in their growth. This group continues to build, learn, and show up for each other — no matter the opponent, no matter the circumstances. The foundation is being laid in real time, and the Panthers will carry those lessons into their next matchup with pride.
