Final: Marian Knights 10, Washington 0 Last week, the Washington boys soccer team faced a tough Marian squad and fell 10–0 on the road. The Knights came in with speed, precision, and constant pressure, and they controlled the match from the opening whistle. Washington spent most of the night defending waves of attacks, trying to break up Marian’s rhythm and limit chances where they could. Even in a difficult match, the Panthers kept working. The back line stayed active, clearing dangerous balls and battling through long stretches of possession from Marian. In the midfield, Washington tried to build moments of transition, looking for opportunities to push forward and create something on the counter. Games like this test a team’s resilience more than anything, and Washington showed it — staying engaged, communicating, and playing with effort until the final horn. The score doesn’t reflect the fight, but the effort was there. The Panthers will regroup, reset, and move forward. Plenty of season left, and plenty of chances to respond.
